THEIST_WATCH Msg : 161 Written : 10/30/94 04:33pm From : ROBIN MURRAY-O'HAIR Status : To : ALL Subj : Australian Anglican Schools for the Poor AUSTRALIAN ANGLICAN LOW FEE SCHOOLS At first it reads like a promotion for Christian charity. The Anglican church is planning to build up to 15 secondary schools in the working-class areas of Sydney, Australia, in order to provide Christianity-based education to the working class. Currently, the only Anglican schools are high-fee, and these new schools are meant to be low-fee to accommodate poorer believers. The catch? The state and federal governments will pick up 78.7 percent of the cost of tuition per student attending. The proposed tuition is $2000-2500 (Australian dollars).
