They say there's always doumbeks in the air (at Pennsic....) But when you're walking down the road, And you see someone dressed in woad, You know that they just did it on a dare (at Pennsic....) They say the fighting is intense, at Pennsic (at Pennsic....) Hear the marshals, "Lay on!" they all shout (at Pennsic....) But how you gonna win the war When all you've got is your barn door, And one barn door won't even kill a scout (at Pennsic....) They say the housing is in tents, at Pennsic (at Pennsic....) It's hot all day and at night it gets cold (at Pennsic....) But you can cool off with a shower, Even if the line's an hour, And your bladder's fuller than you can hold (at Pennsic....) They say that I can't win the crown, at Pennsic (at Pennsic....) But I don't care, I'll be around, anyhow (at Pennsic....) I know I'm gonna be a king, 'Cuz I can swing this rattan thing, And it'll be their turn to scrape and bow (at Pennsic....) (Copyright 1995 David J. Aronson.
