Article 19329 of rec.music.misc: From: txb@nvuxe.UUCP (T Bowers) Newsgroups: rec.music.misc Subject: Stones Discography from both US & UK Message-ID: <396@nvuxe.UUCP> Date: 5 Oct 88 02:59:28 GMT Organization: Bell Communications Research Some folks over in rec.music.beatles asked that I post a Rolling Stones discography that I have in a book called "The Rolling Stones" by Tony Jasper (1976, Treasure Press). This book isn't great (it has lot of nice color photos) but it does have a discography of the Rolling Stones from BOTH a US and UK perspective... the discography may have a few mistakes (they list only 4 songs for the 5 X 5 EP) but it is interesting to compare the two catalogs... the records listed below are the ones you would need to find if you want to assemble a complete catalog, not every bit of plastic ever released (e.g. only singles that have a b-side not available elsewhere are listed)... it's interesting to note that neither catalog is complete on either side of the Atlantic (i.e. you'll have to buy a few imports, no matter where you are!) The next two files after this one are from a Rolling Stones sessionography taken from "The Rolling Stones: The First Twenty Years" by David Dalton (published by Alfred A. Knopf, 1981). That book is excellent and I would recommend it. Any further help that someone could give me with any of this is most welcome (especially with bootleg records)... I have a "*" next to tracks that I am looking for... anyone who has these cuts, I'm up for any kind of tape trade... Thank you, Tom Bowers rutgers!bellcore!nvuxe!txb ----------------------------------------------------------- UK Discography Singles,EPs "Come On"/"I Wanna Be Loved" (1963) "I Wanna Be Your Man"/"Stoned" (1963) "Bye Bye Johnny"/Money"/"You Better Move On"/"Poison Ivy" (1964) "It's All Over Now"/"Good Times, Bad Times" (1964) "5 X 5" EP (1964) "Got Live If You Want It" 6 song EP (1965) "Let's Spend The Night Together"/"Ruby Tuesday" (1967) "We Love You"/"Dandelion" (1967) "Jumpin' Jack Flash"/"Child Of The Moon" (1968) "Run Run Rudolph"/"The Harder They Come" (Keith)(1978) "Going To A Go Go"/"Beast Of Burden" (1982) "She Was Hot"/"Think I'm Going Mad" (1984) Albums The Rolling Stones (1964) The Rolling Stones No. 2 (1965) Out Of Our Heads (UK version) (1965) Aftermath (UK version) (1966) Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass) (UK version) (1966) Between The Buttons (UK version) (1967) At Their Satanic Majesties Request (1967) Beggar's Banquet (1968) Let It Bleed (1970) Get Your Ya Ya's Out (1970) Sticky Fingers (1971) Exile On Main Street (1972) Goat's Head Soup (1973) It's Only Rock and Roll (1974) Metamorphosis (UK version) (1975) Black And Blue (1976) Love You Live (1977) Some Girls (1978) Emotional Rescue (1980) Tattoo You (1981) Still Life (1982) Undercover (1983) Dirty Work (1986) Pluggin' A Hole "Time Is On My Side" import single from US (1964) "Play With Fire" import single from US (1965) Got Live If You Want It import LP from US (1965) Flowers import LP from US for two cuts (1967) Performance Soundtrack (maybe US import?) for 1 cut (1970) Stone Age anthology for 5 cuts (1971) Gimme Shelter anthology for 3 cuts (1971) No Stone Unturned anthology for 7 cuts (1973) "Miss You" import 12" single from the US (1978) Sucking In The Seventies import LP from US for 2 cuts (1980) --------------------------------------------------------------- US Discography Singles, EPs "Time Is On My Side" (1964) "19th Nervous Breakdown"/"Sad Day" (1966) "Have You Seen Your Mother Baby?"/"Who's Driving Your Plane?"
