David Bloomberg P.O. Box 20302 Springfield, IL 62708 (XXX) XXX-XXXX December 2, 1993 Letters to the Editor Illinois Times P.O. Box 3524 Springfield, IL 62708 To the Editor: I would like to congratulate Linda Rockey on an excellent article regarding the creation/evolution debate in Illinois schools ["The evolution solution?," Illinois Times, November 24, 1993]. The information presented was excellent. However, I would like to add one thing. Teachers, students, and anybody else interested in this debate need not look far for information, because there is a group right here in Springfield which deals heavily with the issue. The Rational Examination Association of Lincoln Land (REALL) is concerned about the wide acceptance of pseudo- science in many walks of life, and views creationism as one of the most important current topics in this area. We have close contacts with the National Center for Science Education, and recently had a booth together at the conference of the Illinois Science Teachers Association, in order to help inform science teachers about those who may try to get creationism taught in their classrooms. I also run a completely free computer bulletin board (BBS) which has over 100 files related to the creation/evolution issue. Anybody interested in REALL, or in the creation/ evolution debate in general, can contact us at P.O. Box 20302, Springfield, IL 62708, or via computer and modem at 787-9101. We are always happy to do whatever we can to help get information to anybody asking for it. David Bloomberg, Chairman Rational Examination Association of Lincoln Land
