I've read the book, and I have mixed feelings about it. The first third is a pretty good suspense story, where the main character's wife is sucked into Transformationalism. The second third-- when the protagonist starts screwing around with the Hubbard character's wife-- is Harold Robbins trash, but the last third is pretty engaging, where he portrays the cult's leader as this sort of John Huston-like, growly old guy feeling up teenyboppers.
