Since some of the materials which describe the $cientology cult could be considered to be copywritten materials, I have censored myself and The Skeptic Tank by deleting any and all possible text files which describes the cult's hidden mythologies. I have elected to quote just a bit of the questionable text according to the "Fair Use" legal findings afforded to those who report. - Fredric L. The programme has been produced with the co-operation of supporters of a new anti-cult group, called FUSS (Families Under Scientology Stress), who will be conducting demonstrations outside Scientology orgs on 12th July 1995 to publicise the programme's transmission. The cult has already attempted to infiltrate this new organisation, and has already threatened several of its supporters with solicitor's letters and (in at least one case) a visit from a private investigator, which suggests that they consider FUSS to represent a threat. FUSS represents a new departure for anti-Scientology activities in the UK: for the first time, a militant nationwide organisation dedicated to exposing the abuses of Scientology exists here. Supporters are planning to engage in a variety of campaigns to raise public awareness of the cult's misdeeds and to attempt to encourage the UK government to take similar actions against it to those already seen in the EC, France, Germany and Denmark, among others. FUSS also exists to provide support to families and individuals who have lost friends or relatives to Scientology: its mailing list numbers at least 300 already and looks set to grow steadily. If you feel inclined to demonstrate your support for FUSS and its goals, feel free to come and join us outside your nearest Scientology org - it is hoped that every org in the UK will have a FUSS presence outside it today, starting from around 11am. Naturally, FUSS are keen to remain within the law, and would ask anyone who joins their demonstrations to avoid any activity which might give the cult the opportunity to claim that their rights have been violated. Jeff Jacobsen's piece (on Martin Poulter's web page, among others) on conduct during demos, while being orientated towards US laws, is a good guide to how to avoid problems during anti-CoS demonstrations.
