Opinion on mentioning Xenu on the protest lines

Question answered by remiel in Scientology

Anonymous asked this question on 9/6/2000:

I'm interested in people's opinions on whether mentioning Lord Xenu while on the protest lines is a good idea or a bad idea.

People picketing the cult have different motives but there does seem to be a desire to help people inside get out. Mentioning Xenu -- the contents of OT3 -- could help them or further entrench follower's committment to the cult.

I'm curious whether people think it's a good idea or a bad idea.

I'm in 2 minds about this.

The 'xenu' thing either upsets or confuses COS members. However what it DOES do is to amuse the public and make them say the equivalent of 'they think WHAT?'. It depends whether the role of the picketer is to establich a dialogue with people within the Church or to warn people outside the Church.

I usually find Lisa McPherson and the abuses of the CoS is a better tactic, at least in debates.
