link to times story

This is the story reported by the Times.

What's the sequence of events? Was it the car hits the protesters, then the crowd gets mad, then the cops charging? Did the cops charge first? Did the hitter stop, or was it a hit-and-run?

What's the status of the people who got arrested? Will the charges be dropped?

NY Times

I do not even need to say how far off base the NY Times Article is, they didn't get anything right. If you were there, write to them and tell them. Be directly to the point. You said, "X", and really it was ,"Y". The reports are so far off that when everyone points our each error (there are about 35 to 45 of them), and corrects them, they will know haw stupis they look to everyone there. I was going to comment about some of their stupidest errors, but just read it, you don't need me to tell you any of this stuff.

Write them here:

Minor but important comment

The mnstream newspaper that reported this is the Los Angeles TImes, not the New York Times. These are separate entities, and are not related corporately. They are, however, both papers "of record" for the cities they serve, and they often get things wrong especially when reporting things about the oppressed and radicals as this piece from the Los Angeles Times shows.

Due to an injury, I could not be there. If there are corrections, please, if someone could make them, I would appreciate them.

The main problem I had with the LAT article was that it was unclear about the sequence of events. Also, it gave the GG police the opportunity to present their story, but didn't get the story from protesters.

And last, why were Netkin's charges dropped, when there are still others in jail?
