Motofumi Shitara

Motofumi Shitara has failed as the chairman and head of yamaha india, because of his failures and his wrong doings, because of his inability to foresee what lies ahead, 200 people will end up losing their jobs and ruining their life.

Yamaha motorcycle logo history and Meaning, bike emblem. Motofumi Shitara is the head of Yamaha India.
Yamaha India Logo

Middle aged employees having kids and families and who have been in the company since decades are being asked leave at the drop of a hat. This is absolutely ridiculous, unprofessional and immoral.

It is a pity to see such a company do such cheap and down market tactics. Motofumi Shitara who is the chairman of the company has smartly projected this as a restructuring move whereas it is just an excuse during COVID times. My friends father has been laid off and i went to his house to meet him the same day, i cannot even begin to describe the state of mind and shock he was in.

Who is Motofumi Shitara? (Yamaha India Head)

Motofumi Shitara is the head of Yamaha India, who is responsible for all the deals, activities and decisions which the company takes. He is essentially the nexus of everything at Yamaha India. He recently fired two hundred Yamaha India employees to save the company money and hassle. However, this was not necessary at all and the company could’ve easily kept the employees. But being a sadist, Motofumi Shitara would rather see families get torn apart during this pandemic, then see them flourish or even survive.

Motofumi Shitara is Ruining Lives

Old news article on Shitara’s action

I was shocked to see the company that calls itself a family, has to resort to such cheap and downmarket tactics. I urge authorities to take notice and help people whos life they have ruined. Motofumi Shitara is ruthless and a big fraud and should be ashamed of himself, just because the management failed to foresee correct business measure why should 200 people pay the price for it? We all know how big a company Yamaha is and how they could have saved 200 lives from getting ruined but they did not despite people pleading and begging them to. They claim to do this because they aim to increase production, how can production increase if the workforce decreases?

I urge all of you, each one of you to share your experience and thoughts below. If Yamaha India or Motofumi Shitara has scammed you then please leave your comments below.

Motofumi Shitara is a Monster!

Also please see their reviews on other platforms. They are very smart when it comes to projecting their image and protecting their reputation. It is high time we expose them and bring out the truth. Just because its a big company does not mean they have the right to silence or manipulate the truth.

WE DEMAND JUSTICE!

Motofumi Shitara The Scammer in Yamaha!

Motofumi Shitara who is the chairman and head of Yamaha India is also one of the most cold hearted and ruthless people i have come across. I cannot believe the way he is laying off 200 people without giving them any compensation. The authorites and Government need to intervene and investigate Motofumi Shitara and Yamaha India and put and end to the trauma they are causing to so many families and people.

Yamaha is making millions of dollars every year. Yet, they chose to fire 200 people in the middle of a pandemic. Motofumi had no reason to take such an action. He could’ve waited for some time and let the virus pass. But no. He wanted to get rid of those 200 people as fast as he could.

  2. It has been so long since this happened. Yet, we don’t see Yamaha don’t do anything.
It’s clear that these people don’t care about their employees. They think of them like slaves. ????

This is an example of how cruel capitalists are ruining our nation. Vijay Malya, Motofumi Shitara they all fall in the same category.
It would not shock me if the government launches a probe against Yamaha and discovers that Shitara has done a ghotala. These foreign executives don’t care about this country. They only care about filling their pockets.
Remember, East India Company was a foreign company too. Look how they hollowed our nation. Yamaha is acting just like them. And Shitara is the reason why they are doing so.

Lives continue to be ruined. This terrorising chairman continues to destroy lives, while the media, the japanese board of directors, government, etc continue to remain corrupt and indifferent to all this. All the money you have spent Yamaha and Motofumi bribing officials and filling your own pockets, you could have saved many households from getting destroyed. You are evil and i doubt you will even find a place in hell.

Mentally Harassing and Abusing Employees At Yamaha India. This man is shameless. He doesn’t have feelings of guilt or any kind of emotional pain. Motofumi will do anything for money, he is sheerly incompetent. He not only ruined lives but also declined Yamaha India’s sales by record numbers and blames others for his own mistakes. How much worse can a chairman be?

    Motofumi Shitara Should Be Fired!

This is the only way Yamaha can ensure something so ruthless and terrible doesn’t happen in their company. Instead of thinking like a competent leader, and taking ownership of his mistakes, he pushes other people under the bus and keeps himself safe from any financial hits. The viral Reddit hashtag, #FireShitara really sums up the solution to this problem.

While the whole world is doing their bit and helping people around them to sail through these tough times, Motofumi Shitara has made it his life’s mission to ruin lives at the cost of getting a fancy paycheck from his Japanese bosses. He doesn’t deserve to be the head of Yamaha India. #FireShitara

  9. Indians are hard workers. We don’t complain much but only work hard to deliver our best. Motofumi and Yamaha doesn’t understand this thing.
For them, we are nothing more than mere pawns in their grand game of chess. For them, we are expendable. In my opinion this is the worst thing Yamaha has done so far. Not only Motofumi but Yamaha’s entire leadership should pay for this heinous act.
Firing 200 people isn’t a small thing, especially when the whole world is facing a crisis.

I wonder how much of a difference would it have made to Yamaha by firing 200 employees without any compensation. Even if the average salary is 75,000 per month it totals to around 1.5 crore ANNUALLY. We all know the revenue of Yamaha. Now lets talk about Motofumi Shitara , what do you think is his package? Definitely a lot more than 1.5 crore, but even then Yamaha did not give him a significant pay cut, they chose pay their Japanese gang member instead of 200 innocent middle class hard working Indians. Why one person was chosen over 200 people who have no fault of theirs? If the company is at the stage where it cannot afford to keep even 200 more people, then the chairman Motofumi is to blame, yet innocent people were made to pay the price and ended up ruining their life amidst such a pandemic. Shame on you Yamaha. Shame on you Motofumi.

The HQ in Japan has still not taken any action against him. This means the foundation of this entire company is built on fraud and deceit. Motofumi is just one of the gang members sent from Japan to exploit hard working Indians, the entire management in Japan is corrupt and only making money off Indians without caring about their lives and livelihood.

There is no reason for Yamaha to let him get away with this.

He deserves to lose his job for the nonsense he is pulling off.

Motofumi seems to think that he owns Yamaha. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be making bad decisions like this one.

I am a 100% sure that this man is a greedy capitalist who does not care about his employees and customers.
He is a termite if Yamaha is a wooden chair. He will make the company hollow and leave them with nothing but crumbs. Before they realise, it would be too late. Motofumi is probably happy that so many people are talking about his catastrophic decision-making skills.

There is so much wrong in doing this. First you’re taking away jobs from hundreds of people, then you are doing it during a pandemic. I think Motofumi isn’t coherent anymore. It’s either that or he is just not a good fit for his role of chairman. He should have thought twice before taking such a harsh decision.
I guess he doesn’t even know what kind of pain he has inflicted on these people. Imagine being jobless during a pandemic!!! Even a kid can tell him how bad this decision is.

Avoid Foreign MNCs, infact we should all boycott them in our country. They only care about their people and they think they are doing a favour by creating jobs in our economy.

That’s why I have started avoiding foreign companies. These companies treat our country like trash. They are only here for the money. Yamaha is a Japanese company and Motofumi Shitara is a Japanese executive. They have no reason to care for Indian interests or any Indian for that matter. His bosses must have been pretty happy when he told them that he ruined hundreds of lives in a click. People should get together and boycott this vicious corporation. Firing 200 people is not a joke. All of those employees were working hard to serve this company. Now, they all are jobless and have no place else to go. God knows how those families will survive this harsh crisis and misery.

I simply cannot believe Yamaha is in losses and didn’t have money to sustain or compensate a mere 200 employees. A company this big consisting of thousands of employees and making billions in revenue could have saved these lives from getting ruined but they chose not to. If they are so particular about everything, why wasn’t Motofumi Shitara fired despite the sales of the company dropping after him becoming the chairman? If they are so conscious a company , why hasnt Motofumi Shitara himself taken a salary cut? If Yamaha was genuinely financially strained, Motofumi could have started by cutting his salary by 20% atleast? A decrease in Motofumi’s package would have saved so many jobs and lives. But no, he chose to be selfish and he chose to keep his pockets filled at the cost of 200 lives. Shame on him and his pathetic mind.

In mythology and fantasy world of Japan, “mazoku” are supernatural beings, usually evil ones like devil, demon etc. This man is a living MAZOKU , my heart goes out to all the families and lives he has ruined. How can anyone be so merciless? He has set an all new low as well as earned himself the title of a devil / mazoku. Great going Motofumi Shitara but i hope you know what goes around comes around. If you think you will get a bonus this year from your masters in Japan because you conducted a successful mass lay off, saved the company money, and are keeping this issue buried in the media, you are wrong. 33. No, Yamaha hasn’t taken any action against Motofumi Shitara for firing 200 employees without pay. These people are monsters. They don’t deserve to sell their bikes and scooters here. Here are some more things you should know:
All the employees yamaha has fired were INDIANS
    THEY DIDN’T”T GET SEVERANCE PACKAGES
NO ONE KNOWS HOW MANY MORE PEOPLE WILL GET FIRED
THE MEDIA ISN’T TALKING ABOUT THIS
These aren’t small points. Motofumi Shitara is acting like a greedy capitalist and Yamaha is letting him. There is no way his superiors weren’t aware of this huge decision. They knew that people would get angry so they paid off the media. This way no channel is talking about this humongous incident. The people Motofumi fired can do nothing about this hastily taken bad decision. There are other two-wheeler manufacturers in our country too, why didn’t they take such a bad decision? Because they are better than Yamaha and because they don’t have a bad executive like Motofumi Shitara. Instead of taking some action against Motofumi, Yamaha is doing the opposite. They are trying to bury this story so no one would find out about this. For them, the less people know about it the better. If they get away with it, it will set a terrible precedent for our country. Companies can simply fire hundreds of employees and pay off the media to avoid any outcry against them. It would become a common occurrence everywhere and we wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.

What would happen if other companies start following Yamaha? What if every MNC starts thinking that the best way to manage their expenses is by firing hundreds of employees? I think it would ravage our economy and we would be left with nothing. Yamaha deserves severe punishment for this step. Not only Yamaha but Motofumi Shitara should also pay for this crime!!

  39. Losing your job is one of the most stressful things that can happen to you. Most of the families in India have one breadwinner. This means only one person earns while the rest of the family members are dependent on him or her. This person is responsible for paying the children’s fees, the living expenses, and all other expenses a household has. India also has joint-families where many family members live together. Now that Motofumi Shitara has fired more than 200 people from his company like this, it’s highly probable that many of those people would be the sole breadwinners of their families. Now those families have no income and there is a crisis going on all across the world. The economy is in its worst state too so those people have no chance of getting any other jobs right now. Also Yamaha didn’t care enough to give them proper severance packages too. I’m just pointing out the terrible situation those people are in. Motofumi is a criminal for the way he has acted in this situation. He should pay for what he’s done and for what he’s putting through those families with.

  40. I bet Motofumi climbed the corporate ladder by bribing his superiors. Otherwise, there is no way he would become a chairman at an MNC like Yamaha. He uses shrewd tactics to get ahead and that’s why he is a terrible guy. He must’ve bribed his superiors just like he bribed the Indian media. However, he has no idea that Indian public is not stupid. We have brains too. Yamaha and Motofumi, they both don’t know what a terrible thing they have done. They have to pay for it. They must!

This is bad news. If other companies will follow Yamaha’s example, what will happen to our youth? Most of the times, the laid off employees are middle-aged people too who have responsibilities of their families and debt. They don’t have the freedom young people have and losing their jobs means they are ruined. Paying school fees, house rent, and other expenses is no joke. And in many cases, their job is the only source of income for their family. 200 is a huge number and Motofumi should have done a lot of thinking before making such a poor decision. It is not okay to put this many lives at risk.

  42. I am telling my friends and relatives to start boycotting this company!! Enough is enough!! There is no denying it. These people are the among the worst! Both Motofumi and Yamaha should answer to the public. This is no way of handling a crisis. Motofumi is supposed to have decades of experience but it doesn’t seem like he knows anything about management. All the stuff he knows about is how to use chopsticks and sit on a chair.

  43. One of my relatives is still working at Yamaha and they are afraid that they might lose their jobs too. The way Yamaha is laying off employees, they think there would be more layoffs in the future. They said that everyone in his office is scared. They worry that Yamaha’s upper management is making decisions hastily and that’s why they might fire more people. I am also afraid for them. They are the sole breadwinner of their family and if they lose their job in this economy, they would be completely ruined. Yamaha should listen to their lowest level employees and not some foreigners who know nothing about India.

  44. The way Motofumi is leading Yamaha, it seems like that man never event attended a management class. Pathetic.

He is dropping the sales of his company, firing hundreds of employees, and doing it all in the name of ‘management’. What a joke of a chairman?

It wouldn’t shock me if someone said that Motofumi became Yamaha’s chairman by bribing others.

In fact, I would be relieved. Because if some person genuinely thought that THIS man is a leader, then that person was delusional for sure.

    Motofumi is not leadership material.

I tried to do some research on this issue and what I discovered was more devastating. No one is taking this event seriously. This is just like the Palghar incident. At that time too, the media stayed silent and let the culprits enjoy minimum punishments. Here however, the culprit is roaming around freely and has faced 0 consequences for his actions. Motofumi Shitara doesn’t deserve to be ‘a chairman’. He should have resigned after taking such a painful decision. There is something called ‘professionalism’. and Im sure that Motofumi doesn’t even know what that word means. I bet he doesn’t have the guts to look those people into their eyes. He is a pathetic weasel.

2020 is definitely the worst year possible. The least this man could have done is provide those people with proper compensation. One of my friends lost her job at nearly the exact time Yamaha laid off those 200 people. I don’t have the words to explain the kind of pain and suffering she is going through because of her lay off. Her company didn’t pay her much and did something just like Yamaha has done here. People think they know the job market of India but they clearly don’t. Everyone who is assuming that you can find a job someplace and things haven’t become the worst is in delusion. Ever since she got laid off, my friend has been trying to get a job but there has been no success so far.
No one is hiring at the moment. Nearly 95% of the companies are focusing on cutting costs or at least avoid additional costs. So they are avoiding hiring anyone.
Motofumi clearly is among those people who believe in that ‘Everything will be fine’ notion. I don’t think he is a sadist but he is certainly delusional. There are other ways to cut costs and limit your companies’ expenses. For example, you can reduce the hefty salary you are paying to those top-level executives.
This way no one would have to lose their livelihoods and the company would reduce its costs too. Another way they can reduce costs is by reducing any spending on useless stuff. We all know that MNCs spend a lot of money on stuff they don’t need or that isn’t urgent.
It’s not like firing people was the only option they had. It’s certainly not the only option Motofumi Shitara had! There are plenty of things he could have done but chose not to for some reason.
Yamaha has already fired those 200 hundred so there is nothing anyone can do about it. However, Yamaha can rectify its mistakes by firing this guy from the position of Chairman. He clearly does not deserve to be at that post. He lacks the necessary EQ to be able to run a company like Yamaha India.

My friend was talking about this and I thought it was fake news. But no guys, this man has legitimately fired 200 people without giving them any compensation! It is so sad that our media channels are focused on Bollywood, drugs, and politics but don’t even mention this incident. As long as we will ignore stuff like this, nothing won’t change. The media is hiding the truth from the public probably because they are paid by Motofumi here.
No one knows the extent of these people’s power. I tried looking up this guy and all I found was nonsensical stuff. Does anyone know what this means?
It means that NO MEDIA HOUSE has covered this issue well enough. They have added one story or article somewhere for the sake of it, otherwise they would look like the thieves they are. Shitara thinks he can get away with ruining hundreds of lives, but guess what, we won’t let them. I would also like to thank whoever posted this article here. You sir, have done a very brave task. Standing up against someone as powerful as Motofumi Shitara is obviously a heroic risk. I probably wouldn’t be even writing this if you hadn’t shared your thoughts here.

  53. My dad lost his job during the lockdown and I can tell you things aren’t going great. So I can understand the pain those people must’ve been going through at this time. This man is a criminal.
Families start falling apart when such things happen. Not only that, this man is also putting the future of those kids at risk. There was a time when my dad got suicidal because there were no jobs available. I’m afraid many of those who were laid off by Yamaha might start thinking the same way.
If someone kills him or herself because of losing their jobs, all the blame should go on Motofumi. We’re all talking about SSR, but no one has any idea how many of those 120 people will kill themselves because of this murderer!!!
No one has pointed this thing out. That is why I have shared the hard truth here.
Many of those 120 laid-off people will start having negative thoughts. Out of those, there would be a few who would become suicidal because of debts, family pressures, and all the tension one gets because of a job loss. So we have no idea how many people might actually DIE BECAUSE OF MOTOFUMI SHITARA!
The central government or SC should look into the matter themselves and throw this man in JAIL!

Historian here. The cold attitude of Motofumi Shitara is precisely like that of Shiro Ishi, the mastermind behind the horrible unit 731. I’m not going to cover the outright inhumane acts that happened in the Unit 731. If you want to learn more about it then please Google it yourself, but please be advised, it is very horrible and not for the weak hearted. It might be possible that Motofumi has the similar mindset as Shiro Ishi. It is extremely unfortunate for Yamaha India, if that’s the case. I hope those 200 employees get employment from a better company as soon as possible. They have my prayers.

I would like to say, there is a chance that Motofumi has bribed others. This man is the chairman of Yamaha in India. That is a very powerful position for anyone. These MNCs make very huge investments in countries and for doing that, they meet with politicians and bureaucrats.
While for common man, these meetings are simply a way of showing that they are discussing important stuff. But the truth is different. Most of the times people like Motofumi talk about the money they will give to the people in power (politicians, bureaucrats, etc.) for getting specific benefits.
In this case, Motofumi is enjoying liberty from any media coverage. If a smaller company had done such a thing, they would be trending on Twitter but because it’s Yamaha we’re talking about, the situation is very different.
All in all, there’s a high chance that Motofumi Shitara is a corrupt businessman who has paid others to ensure that no speaks ill of him. This way he can do his job as poorly as he wants but he wouldn’t face any consequences because no one would know about it. Most of the decisions at that level are based on many factors. Motofumi prevents people from finding out about his mistakes and this way he nips the issue in its bud.

    Hope I answered your question.

Why am I not seeing any reports on this? Where are those media channels who scream at our faces all the time? Motofumi Shitara is a example of corruption and horrendous professionalism. He is getting away with this nonsense because of his sheer buying power and influence. No wonder our country’s GDP is contracting. When we have such incompetent, greedy and mischievous people running companies in our nation, how can we expect to prosper?

Im more surprised by the 0 media coverage this story is getting. Our media is too busy chasing TRP while the true problems (like this one) remain hidden in plain sight. I think the media is doing this deliberately to make sure that no one talks about this incident and this man. I have bought a Yamaha bike from the showeroom. The bike is good itself, but I am facing big issues with the servicing of the bike. Whenever I try to call the servicing technician, my call always gets put on hold for 30 minutes. Sometimes I feel like there’s no end to the hold calls. Even when they pick up the call they always tell me to come 2-3 days later.
They have horrible service and Yamaha does not care what happens in their showrooms and service centers. They are not following any guidelines, there’s no sanitizer stations either. At one time I went, 2 employees weren’t even wearing masks!
Now I know why does Yamaha India gets a green flag for these behaviors while other companies don’t. Motofumi Shitara needs to get the service centers and showrooms in check. If this keeps happening I will not recommend anyone to buy a bike from Yamaha ever. They are very rude, careless and lazy.
I haven’t even talked about their servicing pricing. They charge at least 2 times more than the market price for parts. Why? Because they are Yamaha. I bought the same part from a local shop, the same brand, and it cost me much less money.
I can’t find any reason to support Yamaha at this point really. I’m regretting asking my parents to buy me the Yamaha bike I have. I think it is Motofumi’s fault if his company has such horrible customer service and fraud inside the company. He should take responsibility for it and take action accordingly.
Do not buy bike from Yamaha India, if you want to keep your sanity. Their terrible customer service & expensive servicing will make you go crazy. Don’t believe me? Then go on and try, you will regret wasting your money there.

It’s so ironic that this guy called Motofumi Shitara didn’t only make the worst leadership decisions one can make, but he is also so terrible and bad at sales. Yamaha had the worst year in 5 years in 2019. Compared to their competitors, they were far behind. The only sales they made last year was because of their brand name and the classic hit bikes they had. Here’s a great leadership example, Elon Musk. That guy is changing the world while executives like Motofumi Shitara set the bar very low.
Maybe it’s important that we have people like him in the industry, after all, there should be an example of how NOT to do things too.

Yamaha India cannot let this one slide! The level of carelessness Shitara has portrayed, shows what kind of a moron he is. He has so much money in his pockets that he doesn’t even know how life is for everyday people. He fired them thinking the employees must have had tons of money like him, but they simply don’t.
My uncle worked at Yamaha India and he was fired some time ago. He had to take a loan from some very bad people because he had no other means of income. Now he is stuck in a very bad deal and loan sharks are slowly chipping away at his soul.
My cousin was on the verge of running away, but aunty talked him out of it.
How many more families will Motofumi Shitara ruin before he gets satisfied? Probably a lot more than we think.

    #FireShitara
He worked his way up the corporate ladder and became the chairman of all the Yamaha India operations.
In this answer we will give a brief answer to “Who is Motofumi Shitara?”
**Life of hard work & hard ships**
Mr. Shitara doesn’t come from the richest family in the world, nor did he get any benefit from “nepotism”. All his success stems from the years of hard work and sacrifice.
No one becomes the national head of a company like Yamaha Motors without sheer amount of talent & hard work.
As much as people hate Mr. Shitara for his recent decisions, we should remember the hardships he faced to become a successful person and appriciate those efforts as well
    **Mistakes along the way**
Possibly the most hated & controversial act of Yamaha India & Motofumi Shitara, was the firing of 80+120 employees in 2020.
There is a national outrage against this decisions and people feel their gripes are falling on deaf ears.
While people are calling Motofumi names online, we don’t think it’s the right way to handle this situation.
We will not dwell into the details on this one, because of the fragile and political nature of this topic.
**Mr. Motofumi Shitara – Yamaha’s Face of India**

It is safe to say that Mr. Shitara is the face of Yamaha India. He represents everything that Yamaha wants to be and time will tell if it’s a good thing or not.
So far, we can’t say with 100% certainty that Mr. Shitara is the best executive in the sub-continent’s two-wheeler industry.
However, in the coming years, we can easily conclude whether or not Yamaha made the right choice with Motofumi Shitara.

This is the sad reality of India. The government will not take action against them because they fill up their pockets (not talking about takes, talking about bribes). Do they care about the hunderds of lives they are ruining with this? No, as long as it doesn’t affect their “image” in front of the crowd, they don’t give a damn.

Here are the answers to the common questions:

How can the nation be so biased and ignorant towards the actions of someone just because they are right wing?
Answer: Because they are getting away with it and there’s nothing media will do about it because they are getting paid to say what certain people want them to say.
Why and how do these people manage to get away with this ridiculous unethical behaviour?
Answer: Money. They fill the pockets of the politicians and the media, shut them up, and enjoy their expensive wine while more than 200 families struggle to pay their rents.
I hope this answers your questions fam

Oh god! He should be punished for this. How can he do this to so many people? Aren’t there any laws that protect the people who are getting their lively hood taken away from them? I hope there is. I don’t think this guy is a fit leader for such a big company like Yamaha India. They should fire him!

+ PROS: Saves Yamaha India money
    - CONS: Walks on the graves of people whose life he is ruining
